BAHC YISO SOLO EXHIBITION

Last time i went to the MMCA to visited the Bahc Yiso's solo exhibition.Bahc Yiso is a Korean artist. This exhibition was exhibited Bahc Yiso's art works  at different period in his whole life.Including drawing, painting, installitions, videos, sounds, music etc.And this exhibition aims to trace the part of Korean art history by spotlighting an artist who has played a moment role in the development of Korean contemporary art.
The exhibition has two axes that intersect. One is a visual representation of a chronology of Bahc’s artistic life. It reconstructs over 20 years of his New York and Seoul periods.
The other axis, cutting across the first, has three layers. The artist’s notes which served as the seed of his art are at the heart of the exhibition like a platform. In the second phase, visitors are introduced to archives including drawings. The last phase presents actual works by Bahc. This construction of multiple layers offers the viewer a rare opportunity to witness directly the process whereby seed ideas grow to produce their fruits, the works of art.I love the  way of this exhibition. It is inspired me.And  this installation art work atracted me in this exbhition. It is set up by severl lightings which shoting the white wall. This art work named “your bright future ”
Bahc Yiso “your bright future ”
This work was set up by 9 lighting which like the field specific lamps for construction sites, shine the wall brightly. But when I stare at the wall and see the wall strongly illuminated by white light, it gives people a surreal feeling, I don't know if it is the meaning that the artist wants to convey. But I feel illusory, the future is nothing, only the present is the real.
The first impression of Bahc's work is boring. So I need to look around and look around the works, and the longer I stay, the more I feel disoriented. The same is true of the 'Three Star Show'. On paper, three stars. It is even blurry and has no color. painted three stars side by side on white paper, using coffee, cola and soy sauce." The three things in common are brown liquids. But they subtly reflect cultural identity. Soy sauce symbolizes Korean food culture. Coke, especially Coca - Cola used by the artist in his paintings, touched capitalism and neoliberalism.
                                                        Bahc Yiso'Three Star Show'
I found his works more about Korean culture when i finished visiting his work and different  culture between   the Korean and American made Bahc's works are more uniqueness.
